The Outback Bowl is played annually at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, and pits a team from the Big 10 conference against a team from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Originally the Outback Bowl was played on Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama, and later moved to Tampa Stadium before moving to Raymond James Stadium in 1999.

Each year on New Year's Day more than 65,000 fans cheer their teams to victory during the Outback Bowl. Named the Outback Bowl for its title sponsor Outback Steak House, the Outback Bowl was originally named the Hall of Fame Bowl, and many still refer to it as such today.
