The Philadelphia Eagles have been playing in the NFL since they were chartered as an expansion team in 1933. In the Eagles more than 70-year history, they have won 3 conference titles, and made 2 Super Bowl appearances.
Interestingly enough during the 1943 season after enduring a decade long losing streak, and having its roster depleted by World War II, the Philadelphia Eagles joined forces with the Pittsburgh Steelers and created the Phil-Pitt Steagles. Though the merger only lasted one season the 1943 season was the first winning season in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles franchise.
In 2004, the Philadelphia Eagles made their first Super Bowl appearance since the early 80's, and ultimately ended up losing to the New England Patriots. The Philadelphia Eagles have come a long way in their 70 year history as the team no longer makes a habit of posting losing seasons.
