Riverdale, NJ August 4, 2010 Predicting the winners for 2010 U.S. Open Tennis Championship proves especially difficult this year. All the top players in the world will be competing and there is no clear cut favorite on either side. As a result, US Open Ticket sales are as frenzied as ever while tennis fans from around the world all hope to witness the most difficult Grand Slam tournament of all.
The US Open is considered by many to be the most competitive grand slam tournament of the season. Due to key players returning from injuries and the inclusion of the world's highest ranked tennis players, the U.S. Open Championship is there for the taking by any number of emerging or established stars.
"Whichever player wins the men's or women's titles this year, the fans will be treated to the highest level of tennis competition possible. Arthur Ashe Stadium has seen some legendary matches over the years and when everything is on the line we see who the top players really are, it's an exciting tournament," says Tom Patania, CEO of SelectATicket.
On the men's side of the tournament, 2009 saw Roger Federer defeated by Juan Martin del Potro. Rafael Nadal, who has had a long running battle on the courts with Federer over their careers, is also having a strong season. He has won both the 2010 French Open and Wimbledon. Del Potro is expected to participate after recovering from wrist surgery earlier this year. He will be well-rested and ready to compete for the championship.
The women's field is led by Serena Williams, winner of both the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year. Last year's champion, Kim Clijsters, looks to repeat as other highly-ranked players, Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova, also are not to be counted out as potential champions this year.
The U.S. Open has it all it features the top tennis talent in the world, played in the heart of New York City, it is the final Grand Slam tournament of the year and the competition is wide open to whoever steps up and takes it, it is no wonder 2010 U.S. Open Tennis Championship tickets are hotter than ever.
