Unable to secure ownership to remain in Atlanta, the Atlanta Thrashers were sold and moved to Winnipeg in the spring of 2011. Decision on the new team name was hotly debated but in the end the league and the team did the right thing by many fans, they are officially the Winnipeg Jets!

With a storied history dating back to the WHA days when they lured Bobby Hull from the NHL and brought Ulf Nilson and Anders Hedberg in from Sweden, the Winnipeg Jets have a solid fanbase which never wanted to see them leave in the first place.

Gone are the days of Thomas Steen, Dale Hawerchuk and the amazing 76-goal rookie season of Teemu "The Finnish Flash" Selanne, but now Winnipeg Jets fans can look forward to a young and improving club featuring Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd, Evander Kane and Tobias Enstrom.
