2009 Rose Bowl TicketsRose Bowl tickets are on sale now. Experience the exciting College Football action in person. The Rose Bowl has been held annually since 1916, making it the oldest and likely the most well known of the College Bowls. The Game was however first played in 1902 as part of the rose festival, a tourism ploy by the town of Pasadena, California. The 1902 game almost became the first and last football game to be played during the Rose Festival as the Michigan team dominated game play by so much, the Stanford University football team quit in the third quarter. However in 1916 the Rose Bowl returned and has been played continually ever since. In 1923 the Rose Bowl moved from its original home in Tournament Park, to its newly constructed home in Rose Bowl Stadium. The Rose Bowl has been played in Rose Bowl Stadium every year since its move to the new stadium (with the exception of 1942 when the game was played in Wallace Wade Stadium in North Carolina due to crowd restrictions on the West Coast after the attacks on Pearl Harbor). 2009 Rose Bowl Tickets mark the 95th playing of the Rose Bowl, and as always the festivities surrounding the Rose Bowl are sure to memorable; with the annual Rose Bowl Parade, and the ever-popular Rose Bowl Band Fest. The teams for the Rose Bowl will be selected by the normal BCS process, though historically the Rose Bowl features the PAC-10 Champion playing against the Big-10 Champion earning its original nickname "The East - West Football Game." Rose Bowl Stadium is one of the oldest college stadiums still in operation today, and can seat more than 90,000 screaming fans. Rose Bowl Stadium has been a very busy stadium over its history hosting five NFL Super Bowl Games, the 2002 BCS National College Football Championship Game, the 1999 Women's World Cup, the 1994 Men's World Cup, the 1984 Olympic Soccer Matches as well as countless concerts and celebrations. Know known by its trademark moniker The Granddaddy of Them All, The Rose Bowl is one of the most highly anticipated events of not only the college football calendar but also the year. Each year hundreds of thousands of fans descend upon Pasadena for the Tournament of Roses though only those lucky enough to possess Rose Bowl tickets can get into the stadium to watch the actual Rose Bowl Game.
