This gripping drama won the Pulitzer prize and was a Tony nominee in the year of it's debut. Three years later in 1957 the Drama was turned into a motion picture for the silver screen and starred Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor. The film version was nominated for numerous Oscar and Academy Awards and won several of the awards it was nominated for.
